How Basketball Players can Improve their Weak Hand

Basketball Training for Your Off Hand

As a basketball trainer, I face a lot of questions on a weekly basis about how players can improve. Whether it's shooting, dribbling, finishing through contact, driving to the basket, or any other skills - parents and players are always looking for answers on how they can improve and get an edge on the competition.

Since I face so many of those questions, I've decided to make some instructional videos detailing workouts as well as tips and techniques for players to use for their improvement. One of the most frequent questions I hear is: "how can I improve my weak hand?" Being able to use both hands as a basketball player is a crucial skill for handling the basketball, passing the basketball, and finishing at the rim, so it makes sense why I hear the question so often.

Many basketball players are so reliant on their dominant hand, that it makes it easy for to defenders to contain them by simply funneling them to their weak hand, making them ineffective. To address this issue, I believe that there are 3 main skills that must be mastered with one's off hand: dribbling, finishing, and passing. Today's video will address dribbling with a quick stationary workout that players can preform daily to improve their ball handling skills with their off hand.
